This property in Ottsville had a lot going on - overgrown ornamental grasses with a full season of dead material built up, beds that needed clearing out, debris piled up around the outbuildings, and mulch beds across the front, back, and side of the house all due for a refresh. It's exactly the kind of job that looks simple from the outside but takes real time and attention to do correctly.

We started by cutting back the ornamental grasses throughout the property. Left untouched, those clumps become a tangled, matted mess that chokes out new growth. Once they're cut back clean and the debris is hauled off, the beds have room to breathe and the plants actually come back fuller. We did the same work on the perennial beds - clearing out winter debris, pulling early weeds, and getting everything edged so the mulch had a clean line to sit against.

Fresh black mulch went down across all the beds. The difference it makes is immediate. It locks in moisture, slows down weed germination, and just makes the whole property look pulled together. On a property this size, with beds running along the front walkway, around the outbuildings, and throughout the backyard near the pool and patio areas, getting consistent coverage takes coordination - not just muscle.

What we ended up with is a property that's ready to grow into summer without the yard looking like it's playing catch-up. The front walkway beds are clean and edged. The backyard island bed around the patio is mulched and sharp. The ornamental grasses are cut back and already pushing new green growth. Properties in Bucks County with this much landscaping need a solid start to the season, and that's exactly what this cleanup delivered.

Spring cleanup is one of those jobs that sets the tone for how your yard looks all summer. Get it done right early, and you're not fighting weeds and dead material all season long. Skip it, and you spend the next five months trying to catch up.
